Introduction to JUNOS Software (1day)
This one-day course (IJS) provides students with the foundational knowledge required to work with JUNOS Software and to configure devices running JUNOS Software. Key topics include user interface options with a heavy focus on the command-line interface (CLI), configuration tasks typically associated with the initial setup of devices, interface configuration basics with configuration examples, secondary system configuration, and the basics of operational monitoring and maintenance of devices running JUNOS Software. This course is based on JUNOS Software version 9.5R1.8.
Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience in configuring and monitoring the JUNOS Software and monitoring basic device operations.
After successfully completing this course, you should be able to:
- Describe the basic design architecture of JUNOS Software;
- Identify and provide a brief overview of devices running JUNOS Software;
- Navigate within the JUNOS Software CLI;
- Perform tasks within the CLI operational and configuration modes;
- Restore a device running JUNOS Software to its factory-default state;
- Perform initial configuration tasks;
- Configure and monitor network interfaces;
- Describe user configuration and authentication options;
- Perform secondary configuration tasks for features and services such as syslog and tracing, Network Time Protocol (NTP), configuration archival, and SNMP;
- Monitor basic operation for JUNOS Software and devices;
- Identify and use network utilities;
- Upgrade the JUNOS Software; and
- Perform file system maintenance and password recovery on a device running JUNOS Software.

Junos for Security Platforms (3 days)
This certified training course (JSEC) gives students a hands-on lab experience configuring and monitoring JUNOS software for security platforms.
We recommend students should prior to attending the course, have knowledge of JUNOS by attending Introduction to JUNOS Software (IJS).
The target audience for this course is network engineers, administrators, support personnel and reseller support personnel. This course benefits those who currently operate SRX Series Services Gateways or are thinking about installing the new SRX security products.

This course (CJFV) focuses on configuration of the Juniper Networks firewall/VPN products in a variety of situations, including administrative access, routing, firewall policies and policy options, attack prevention features, address translation and VPN implementations.
This course combines both lecture and labs with significant time allocated for hands-on experience. Students completing this course should be confident in their ability to configure Juniper Networks firewall/VPN products in a wide range of installations.

This course (OJXE) discusses the configuration of Juniper Networks EX-series switches in a typical network environment. Key topics include a platform overview, user configuration interfaces, initial and secondary system configuration tasks, operational monitoring of an EX-series switch, Ethernet switching concepts, spanning tree protocol, inter-VLAN routing, switching security protocols and features, IP telephony features, and design and implementation considerations.

JUNIPER ROUTING
Operating Juniper Networks Routers in the Enterprise (4 days)
This course (OJRE) is an introductory-level, instructor-led course that focuses on installation, configuration, operational analysis, and troubleshooting considerations of Juniper Networks routers in the enterprise. OJRE introduces Juniper Networks Enterprise Routing platforms including both M-series and J-series models. It then focuses on router configuration using both the J-Web graphical user interface (GUI) and the JUNOS software command-line interface (CLI). Real-world configuration and operational monitoring case studies are provided for general router configuration and for RIP, static, and OSPF routing. The class also provides an overview of common services such as the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), the Multilink Point-to-Point Protocol (MLPPP) and Network Address Translation (NAT).
